In this one-hour poetry workshop led by local poet Emma Sullivan, attendees will be provided with writing prompts that use materials found in the library and from memory to explore “poetry as adaptation.” How do poems “adapt” and veil themselves as other kinds of texts? How can you adapt existing texts and materials that aren’t poems and transform them into poems? At what stage in this process does a not-poem become a poem?
